We purchased Termite Protection Insurance from TERMINEX in 2003. recently we had a mold problem in the house.

We got a mold inspection done and got a lab reort showing presence of mold in our home. Then we hired a Mold remediation company to clean upold. when the remediation company cut the drywall around windows in bed rooms they noticed termite damaged dead wood in the window frames. We immediately called local Terminex office in West Palm Beach, FL.

they sent a Technician to inspect. he took pictures of the damaged wood frame and sent the same to his boss in West palm Beach office. Later we got a call from Mr Reynolds, manager, West Palm Beach who informed us that there is no claim and they will not pay any money for the damage. It is absolutely unfair .

The company is ripping customers by collecting premiums but not paying when there are legitimate claims. Is there a legal remedy for us?

Monetary Loss: $3000.

We are having a similar Terminix issue in Miami. In 2001 we had the house treated and purchased subterranean and dry wood termite protection policies.

In 2003 unbeknownst to us the policy was converted according to Terminix (can't find out what this means from Terminix). As a result of this conversion somehow our subterranean protection was eliminated by Terminix.. Fast forward to a year ago and we have had an issue in one of the bedrooms with what looks like a new termite infestation. The first treatment was not effective and they came out today and told us we did not have coverage.

We asked how this could be as we paid all the invoices and have cancelled nothing. No answer except the technician stormed out of the house throwing the front door into a set of shelves. After having read comments and experiences of Terminix customers at this website and others, I think I should not be surprised. It looks like this is how they do business.

Their plans are not worth the paper they are printed on. With regard to how to do something about it, other than a class action lawsuit, I think the best bet is to find another pest control company.
