Terminix, Once Great now Just!

Terminix has little to no complete training and almost zero managers at the branch level with the proper knowledge and training to handle encapsulation work or sump pump work. I worked for Terminix for 20 years and was midlevel manager for almost eight years. The training process for Terminix is at best a joke. The role out "new product lines" such as encapsulation and exclusion and hold a group meeting with power point presentations and say; Go sale and install these new initiatives. If you do not because you are not trained, then the put pressure on you about your job security because you cannot get with the new program. I guess that is the price you pay to try and be a 2 billion dollar company. 20 plus years ago it was like a family, focused on customers, pest control, termite and employees to drive growth. Now it is all about the might dollar.

It's always been about the almighty dollar and Yes Terminix is not a qualified contracting co! Most of the technician watch movies two week go out with a licensed tech for a week fill out a bogus training schedule to get registered given a 220 stop route and Then told to sell exclusion,insulation,Termite policies sump pump temp vents? a YOU GET THE PICTURE It has become the laughing stalk of the Pest control industry TRY TRAINING YOUR EMPLOYEES YOUR STAPLE FIRST AND THEN GIVE THEM ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT 18 stops a day 6 days a week no wonder why u have to bludgeon your customer base with all these bogus services your customer retention is terrible you cancel the second biggest co in the world too Consumers stay far far away from these crooks

I need a reasonable answer!!

I had contracted with your company for over 10 years. Your company only send people to check up my house once a year. For the past 10 years never found any termini problem. Howvever, this year, due to my payment two months last, the inspector FUND a termini problem outside of my home. As a results, I have to pay $1200 to treat the "problem". Because I am out of the contrat!! My question is how you know the termini come close to my house only at the last two months? the last time the inspector came to my house was on 14 months ago. The contract is covered by 12 months. Since you never send people to do the check up, how do you determine during the over 12 months there is no termini problem, and the termini is showing only at the last two no covered months. What is your responsibility? The yearly fee I paid is cover for what? Please give me an reasonable answer!

Termites can show up at any time if you didn't pay your renewal and it was out if coverage then you get termites well that's like not paying your auto insurance then having an accident

They lie and mislead.

The other day a young man with Terminix clothing and ID came to the door saying "I don't know if you've heard about what's been going on in the neighborhood but we're out here treating homes for infestations that can be dangerous…" etc etc etc. As he was talking he was showing me laminated pages of images of various insects, one in particular - an ant. I said I don't have a problem and didn't need the service, and my phone was in fact ringing. He said, "ok, I was just going over here to "Dana's" to schedule them so I'll come back when I'm done." "Dana" is my neighbor. So I answered my phone. Young man came back, continued his schpeal talking about how "you can't see the damage they're doing…. one time offer… super low quarterly payments" (of upwards of $100?)… I said we don't have a problem, but leave a card and info and I'll call if we need service. He said he didn't have any cards or info to leave, and that this was a one-time, at-the-door offer. No thanks, I'll take may chances. I asked about the ant image he first showed me, that the area was having a problem with - it was a fire ant. He agreed that fire ants aren't an issue in this part of the country, but that he was using it to just show an ant. Ok - so there is no "problem in the area" that I might've "heard about". Nice lie, kid. Turns out "Dana" didn't hire them either.

Our service tech said they are under pressure to get in fast, and try to up sell additional services. He frequently did not have the correct product for the application.

He complained that if he could find a better job, he would leave Terminex in a heartbeat due to the stress.

We just cancelled Terminex and hired a local vendor. We're getting much better results.

Was sold on the ultimate protection plan because salesman said they would cover damage done by carpenter ants after the initial treatment. Initial service, technician placed a few bar code stickers and shined a red light in a few corners and said there was no existing damage, then sprayed around the outside. 2 weeks later carpenter ants are crawling up the house again. Called for another service call, tech showed up and spray across front door threshold and garage door then left. 2 weeks after, had carpenter ants, spiders and earwigs inside the house now. Called and set apointment - no show. Called for the next week, confirming that an actual appointment was set - no show again. Called the next week pretty irate, was transferred through 3 people before getting "Bob" who put me on hold for 20 minutes to verify with the local manager that the next appointment was "set in stone" - this one even showed up on the app for my phone for 2 days, but disappeared the day of the appointment and guess what, no show. Called Monday, very irate now, assured that no matter what a tech would be out today. Never received a confirmation call so I called to check and guess what, they aren't going to show up. Will be disputing charges on my card and filing reports with BBB, FTC and local AG.

Response Email from Terminix rep who stated I had to pay even though Terminix had no order from me or my CC number. If I didn't pay they would turn it against my credit. I'll follow-up with 1st Email.

Terminix held my credit hostage for a service I never ordered. My brother ordered and paid for their service. He explained I had NOTHING to do with the Terminix service and to leave me out of it.

Dissatisfied with Customer Service

My wife and I originally called Terminex a few weeks ago to get help with a wasp problem. The technician showed up, performed his services and went on his way. Less than a week later, the wasps were back at it again, rebuilding in the same spot. We were told this would happen, and it was covered under the 30 day guarantee. So, my wife called back, scheduled the appointment and most of the wasps were killed again. Now, we are calling them back a 3rd time in less than a month to kill the same wasps that have been sharing the outside of our house with us. The service part is frustrating, but I can live with that. The part that is the most appalling is the customer service representative that my wife and I dealt with this evening. My wife (not being from the US) called up and was somewhat frustrated that we have to keep calling back. The representative, T******* D***** from the Phoenix office asked to speak with someone could speak English better. My wife has never had this problem before, most people mistake her for being born in the US. Anyways, I handled the phone call at that point. I told T****** that I was tired of taking time off of work and I just wanted a solution to get the problem fixed, and not having to call back on a weekly basis. She told me that I should focus on my job and not show up when the technician shows up because its not required. I hope that I do not need to pay for the Terminex career advice given out because quite frankly it was unwarranted. When I asked to speak with her manager, she told me that there are no managers currently working and to call back at a more suitable time. I wish Terminex the best and hope that this is a one time occurrence and other customers have a better experience.

Don't waste your time and money!

I recently called Terminex to treat an apartment where the tenant saw a mouse. The treatment did not help at all and the problem spread to another apartment. In the original apartment not one mouse has been caught and there is evidence of more. I called to schedule another appointment and they did not show up. I also called to schedule an appointment for them to check to see where the mice were entering and again they did not show up - two days in a row, and these are not the only times they have not shown up. I'm also reporting them to the BBB.

You need wildlife exclusion. Its a relatively expensive service, but regular pest control is not the answer.

Exclusion tech seals your house, pest techs don`t have time for that. Mice will wise up to traps and they have to be properly set to catch jerry.

God awful customer service for two days. .had appt called back to give ccard info Even tho they said they would call me. .call dropped twice when i called them no one called me back 3rd time she insured me i had an appt no one ever came next day call dropped 3 times while they were looking into it no one ever called me back. .when i finally got in touch with some one he wouldn't honor the quote and hung up on me. .ugh..my money is no good here!

Worst Experience EVER!!!

Terminix Mosquito Control is honestly the biggest rip off that I have ever seen! They do not stand by their Guarantee, I had to call them every month to find out when they were planning on sending someone to do our service, and then would wait an additional 2 weeks to send someone. I paid for a month of service in August that I am still waiting on and they said the next available service would be September 22.... My yard is full of Mosquitos and after the aggravation with them today I cancelled my service letting the $118.00 that I paid for a month of service go because God knows if I will ever see it anyway! Don't waste your money, find a local company that actually cares about their customers and their company's reputation!!

REFUND PROCESS/Customer service

Horrible service I've closed this account and have attempted for 2 months to get a refund of over 200.00 which I am also told via many phones calls it's pending to a check is being released. I'm on hold for 20mins at a time getting jumped around from one department to another.

This is a main reason I did not transfer my service to another state. I was a loyal customer for 4 years, NOW NEVER WILL I EVER USE OR REFER TERMINIX. They have a customer complaint link that Doesn't work!! I Wonder why!!!

They would need to hire more people to keep up with the complaints over satisfaction. Stick or switch to ORKIN !

I called Terminix, the person who answered the phone put me on hold for one & half hours. I asked to talk to a Supervisor or manager and she put me on hold for almost a half hour. Someone was supposed to come to talk to me. She said the job was completed, no one came here all day. Please have someone call me at 206-245-****. Urgent!

Worst experience ever

We had our initial home inspection and treatment in our home on 08/22/15. The tech did not seem to know anything. He was a really big guy and just spraying outside the house had him out of breath already. He never checked our attic and it took him less than 8 minutes to complete spraying through our entire house. He did a half *** job. I could've done better myself... Within two days we were seeing spiders again.. He claimed what he used was potent and would keep the spiders away for at least a month. What a joke. I called Customer Service to get a refund and they transferred me back and forth then I was told a branch manager would call me back but they would not give me the branch manager's phone number. This place is horrible. Save yourself some time and money by doing some research and kill the house pests yourself.

I contacted Terminixto come and do a one time visit and specifically selected one time on the contract - I called them one month later as I am still seeing roaches and they said I have a bi monthly service scheduled for Sept 10 and that will cost $129 - I told him the roaches have never completely gone and he said his system would not allow him to put in a service call for free - Terminix has now lost a customer!!!!

I was sold on a service with Terminix with termite protection and quarterly bug protection. It is suppose to be a great plan and discounted combining the two services. When bait stations were checked, he would leave a blank notice stating there was activity. I would always have to call and find out which station was getting the activity. This was explained they go over this when annually when the service renewed. Service technician never went under the home as stated. Also was to clean any spider webs and nest off the home on his visit. He service was poor, I called him back out and to complete what the contract states they will do. He still didn't complete the job. I did an inspection the night before he was coming out and he still didn't complete his task. For the amount of money this company charges you would think they would do a great job. Secondly, their billing service is harassment. I receive two bills almost weekly, one for each service, then the phone calls start. I finally got angry with them and they finally consolidated the bills. The day I received the new bill they were calling. Do your homework, you can find a better service for a better price than a franchised dealer. They hide behind the name and do poor quality work. This service was consistent the two years I have had them. I have cancelled their service!!

All calls to Terminix are routed through a call center in Phoenix. Despite having a local number, it is impossible to connect to anyone locally. Our initial contact with Terminix was very positive. It has gone down hill at a steady pace. One technician says they only have to spray outside. Another admonishes me because he hasn't been able to get inside. They spray my walls and furniture because they are too lazy to stoop and spray baseboards. If you don't follow them around, they don't spray at all. Termite control, that once involved yearly spraying, now consists of a guy with a flashlight. The folks working in customer service in Phoenix, best referred to as the dead call center, couldn't care less. At times they are rude. Calls are put on hold till you tire and hang up. They obviously reflect the companies attitude towards service. After repeated efforts to discuss how our property is being managed, I will no longer be a customer. There are other companies in the area that are worth a try. They certainly couldn't be worse.

I work for terminix and I agree it's a horrible company, but there's never been a annual termite spray in the industry. You can't pump thousands of dollars of toxic chemicals under a home annually.

It has never been done like that. The annual inspection with the flash light is how the company checks to find new termites.

If they did then they would treat. Terminix sucks but your complaint is invalid.

Today's termite control methods only require yearly Inspections up to how many years the structure is warrantied. I only warranty most my treatments for 5-7 years.

Product labeling, EPA, Dept. Of Agriculture, etc., etc. Will not allow yearly treatment anymore. If the structure was treated with Termidor from BASF, it doesn't require it anyway.

I work for a small mom & pop outfit in the Florida Panhandle.

Most cases, it is best to go with the little local guy. You have a more personal experience & usually receive better service overall.
